Alumni Award
The success of an academic institution is best exemplified by the positive impact of its graduates. The CEEF Alumni Award seeks to identify recipients who, through their dedication and perseverance, have made significant contributions to their communities, professions, or society as a whole. We hope the recipient will motivate graduates to seek excellence in school-related pursuits and in the future in their careers, families, and communities.
If you would like to nominate someone for the 2025 award, please fill out our nomination form to submit their name.
Curt Brown – the 2024 recipient of the CEEF Alumni Award!
Lobsterman, marine biologist, advocate. Curtis Brown has worn many hats since graduating from CEHS in 1998, and in June, he returned to add Alumni Award Recipient. Currently, Brown is a Marine Biologist for Ready Seafood and a scientist at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. He has chaired the SEA Maine Initiative to bolster Maine’s marine economy and is currently a Co-Chair of the Coastal and Marine Working Group for Governor Mills’ Climate Council. He was also recently named as a member of the Governor’s new Maine Infrastructure Rebuilding and Resilience Commission. Passionate about protecting Maine’s waters and advocating for the lobster industry, Brown was nominated by several peers, including past Alumni Award winner Luke Holden. Hailed as a “hero” for the Maine lobster industry, Holden noted that Brown’s “super power is his ability to seamlessly communicate complex issues across all stakeholders within the lobster industry to bring people together for the sake of good. The Maine lobster community has a bright future with leaders like him.” Join us in thanking Curt Brown for giving back to the Cape community and beyond, and congratulate him on receiving the 2024 CEEF Alumni Award!
Past Winners
2023 – For 2023, CEEF chose to honor not one, but many – the graduates of Cape Elizabeth who have returned to their hometown to teach and inspire the next generation of Capers! In 2023, this included 23 alumni across the district. These include teachers at all three schools, Ed techs, and Administration. CEEF wanted to recognize the dedication and unique perspective these alumni bring to students. Thank you to all past and present Alumni who return to inspire us! (Following is a list of Cape Alumni teaching in the school district as of June, 2023).
